About the Project
This project is focused on harnessing solar energy to power steam engines, providing a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative for energy production. The goal is to innovate in green technology using traditional methods reimagined for modern challenges.
What if we could use 100% baseload and 0% intermittent for our electricity grid? If localized microgrids could absorb the baseload and smaller steam turbines fired up to accomodate intermittent loads when everyone gets home from work and starts turning things on, we could use 100% of our existing renewable generation, but even more efficiently!
Picture this: renewables heat up some hot water, turns it into steam, it becomes lighter and easier to move around with higher pressures pushing the steam around to the various microgrids.
Now micro-size it! EV Charging is a tough intermittent load to integrate into existing electricity grids. What if we did it for them? By negotiating a constant power to add to their baseload, they provide cheaper electricity than would otherwise be possible due to the constant nature of the load. We then store that energy in steam accumulators.
When thirty EVs show up needing electricity at up to 250kW, we can doll that energy out all at once via the steam turbine/DC fast charging setup, and tomorrow the process starts all over again!
Current Progress
We've successfully prototyped a small-scale solar steam engine. Initial tests show promising efficiency rates, with ongoing refinement in energy capture and conversion.

Next steps include scaling up the prototype for practical applications, seeking partnerships with existing renewable groups for broader implementation, and exploring integration with existing infrastructure. Stay tuned for updates!
